This policy describes information handled by Multiview Companion, an independent Chrome extension for arranging subscribed live YouTube TV channels in one tab, and by its voluntary email support and privacy-policy website.

Information the extension handles

Multiview Companion reads channel/program labels, native channel identities, and full YouTube TV watch links provided by YouTube TV's Home page, current Live guide, and native player. It uses those links as provided by YouTube TV, including native playback parameters. It also handles temporary channel selections, audio/mute choices, playback status, and technical identifiers and deadlines needed to coordinate the owning tab, document, players, channel resolution, and navigation.

This information is processed locally on your device. Selection and technical session state use Chrome's temporary extension session storage. Temporary markers on owned page/frame elements support navigation and player handoff. The extension does not create saved presets, durable viewing history, or Chrome Sync data.

How information is used

Information is used only to display the selected native players, resolve an explicitly selected live channel, coordinate audio and ownership, manage native player promotion/exit, and recover the active selection after its owning page reloads. Reloaded selections start muted. The extension does not automatically resume multiview after a browser restart.

The extension's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It does not sell user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to data brokers.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Temporary state remains in memory while the extension is loaded. Exiting multiview clears its active selection/ownership state and removes additional owned frames. Exit may continue one ordinary native channel while preserving its mute state. A local continuation directive is valid for up to 60 seconds to complete that same-tab handoff. It is removed after acknowledgement, or when the extension next checks an expired directive. Closing the owning tab ends its session.

Channel-resolution and native navigation/promotion attempts have bounded deadlines. Failed selections remain available for Retry or Remove until removed or the session ends. Chrome clears extension session storage when the browser restarts or the extension is disabled, reloaded, or updated. There is no persistent extension viewing history.

You can end the extension session, close the owning tab, disable the extension, or remove it through Chrome. Native YouTube TV may continue ordinary playback or maintain its own viewing history under Google's policies.

Native playback and outside services

The extension retains the page's ordinary native player and can load additional native YouTube TV players using your existing signed-in browser session. Google's website handles authentication, cookies, content delivery, advertisements, location verification, and subscription restrictions. The extension does not read or store passwords, account credentials, authentication cookies, payment details, or video recordings.

We do not automatically receive your channel/program labels, watch links, or technical session information from the extension. You may choose to include such details in a support message as described below. The extension has no extension-operated backend, analytics, telemetry, or third-party advertising. All extension logic is bundled in its package; native YouTube TV remains an ordinary remote website. Google's own processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Voluntary support emails

If you choose to email support, the publisher receives the sender address, message, and any details or attachments you provide. This information is used to respond to your request and support the extension. The extension does not automatically send diagnostic reports or its locally handled playback/session data to support.

Support messages are forwarded through SimpleLogin to the publisher's existing Gmail inbox. SimpleLogin and Google process support email separately from the extension's local playback data. The private delivery address is not published. These services describe their data handling in the SimpleLogin Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy.

Support conversations are retained only while needed to respond to or follow up on a support request. When they are no longer needed for support, the publisher deletes them. You may request deletion of your support messages at any time by emailing the privacy/contact address above. Records that must be retained by law are kept only as long as required. No fixed retention period is set. Copies or logs retained by email providers are subject to those providers' policies.

This public policy page is hosted using OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure. The hosting providers may process your IP address, browser/request information, and other technical data needed to deliver and secure the page. This website processing is separate from the extension's local playback/session data. The publisher has not added analytics, advertising trackers, forms, or external fonts to this page.

For hosting-provider information, see the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy. No YouTube TV playback data is automatically sent to this policy website by the extension.
